The proper dance wear, well-fitting shoes and neat, pulled back hair are important to the learning experience of all dancers.  Please see below for the correct dance attire for your class(es). Necklaces, rings, and large earrings are discouraged, as they can distract or impair the dancer.

Introduction to Dance:
Any fitted, danceable clothes for both grown up and baby. Bare feet required, tutus encouraged!

Preballet
Girls: Any solid color leotard (camisole, tank, short or long sleeve), pink footed ballet tights, pink ballet slippers. Hair pulled back to a ponytail (length and texture permitting). Ballet skirts permitted - no dress-up or play tutus, no "fashion" tights.
Boys: plain t-shirt and black, navy or grey soft pants/leggings. Black or white ballet slippers.

Ballet slippers should be leather, and full soled (example). Satin bedroom slipper style shoes are not allowed.

Ballet/Tap Combo:
Girls: Any solid color leotard, pink footed tights. Hair pulled back in a ponytail (length and texture permitting).  Pink ballet slippers. Ballet skirts permitted - no dress-up or play tutus, no "fashion" tights.
Boys: plain t-shirt and black, navy or grey soft pants/leggings. Black or white ballet slippers.

For ballet segment: Shoes should be leather, and full soled (example). Satin bedroom slipper style shoes are not allowed.
For tap segment: Girls: Mary Jane style tap shoes, velcro closure strongly recommended. Boys: Jazz or oxford style tap shoes.

Ballet 1, 2, Teen Ballet:
Girls: Any solid color leotard (camisole, tank, short or long sleeve are fine, no halters please), pink footed ballet tights, pink ballet slippers. Hair pulled back to a ponytail or bun (Teen Ballet must wear bun - length and texture permitting). Ballet skirts permitted, no "fashion" tights.
Boys: plain t-shirt and black, navy or grey soft pants/leggings. Black or white ballet slippers.

*Ballet slippers will preferably be leather split sole, although canvas is permitted. Satin bedroom slipper style shoes are not allowed.
*Legwarmers, dance sweaters and other layers are allowed when cold. Dancers may be asked to remove warm-ups once class is in session.


Stretch & Strengthen:
If attending ballet class before or after this class, ballet attire is fine. If just attending this class, any color leotard and footlights tights/leggings is permitted.

Modern 1, 2, Teen Modern:
Girls: Any solid color leotard, black footless tights or leggings. Hair pulled back in ponytail (length and texture permitting). Bare feet required. No skirts.
Boys: Any solid color t-shirt, black soft pants or footless leggings.

Jazz Tap Combo 1, 2:
Girls: Any solid color leotard, black tights or leggings. Hair pulled back to ponytail (length and texture permitting). Tap shoes required for tap portion, jazz shoes preferred for jazz portion.
Boys: Any solid color t-shirt, black soft pants or footless leggings.  Tap shoes required for tap portion, jazz shoes preferred for jazz portion.

For jazz segment: Black jazz shoes preferred - any slip on style.
For tap segment: Girls: Black Mary Jane style tap shoes, velcro closure strongly recommended. Boys: Black jazz or oxford style tap shoes.


Tap:
Girls: Any solid color leotard, pink or black tights. Dance skirts permitted.  Mary Jane style tap shoes (velcro closure strongly preferred). Hair pulled back to a ponytail (length and texture permitting).
Boys: Any solid color t-shirt, any color soft pants or footless leggings. Jazz or oxford style tap shoes.

Adult Ballet, Adult Modern, Adult Tap:
Any fitted, danceable clothes - wear what you would wear to work out! For tap, an oxford or jazz-style shoe is preferred over heels. Bare feet or socks in modern classes, ballet slippers preferred in ballet class.
